The breakdown went out this morning, and being that my phone number is on the cover page of the script, I have been getting calls all morning from agents and managers. Most of them are fine, they just introduce themselves, maybe ask me some questions about the roles and the script, talk a little about the movie, etc. Normal business conversation (we don't go too far into any specifics, because they do that with the casting director).
Then there was the other one. The one whose flattery was saccharine and transparent. Who said I was a genius and my script was the greatest thing he'd ever read, blah, blah, blah. Said he'd been a fan for years. Then I read the email he sent after we talked. The subject line:
"Max Tucker follow-up"
No comma.
Yeah, big fan that one is.
