FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Darko Entertainment Taps the Cast for Tucker Max's "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell"

LOS ANGELES - Matt Czuchry, Jesse Bradford and Geoff Stults will star in "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell," it was announced today by Darko Entertainment, who is financing and producing the film. Based on Tucker Max's bestseller, Czuchry will play Tucker Max, which will mark the actor's first starring role in a feature film. Bradford and Stults will play Max's best friends.

Rounding out the cast is Keri Lynn Pratt and Denise Quiñones, who were also announced today as joining the production. The film begins principal photography on location in Shreveport, Louisiana starting July 21.

Bob Gosse ("Niagara, Niagara," "Julie Johnson") directs with Tucker Max and Nils Parker serving as screenwriters adapting from Max's book. The film is produced by Darko's Richard Kelly, Sean McKittrick and Ted Hamm along with Max and his partner Parker's Rudius Films. Max Wong and Karen Firestone of Pinkslip Pictures will also produce along with Aaron Ray of The Collective. Shaun Redick and Ray Mansfield of The Collective are Executive Producers. The Collective is handling the North American rights to the film.

"Matt immediately understood the complexity and charm of the Tucker character and the irreverent style of Tucker's writing," said McKittrick and Kelly. "We're fortunate to have three great actors in Matt, Jesse and Geoff as our leads, and a great supporting cast who are all enjoying working with Bob and Tucker."

Based on Tucker Max's real life escapades, the story revolves around an impromptu trip he takes to celebrate his friend's bachelor party. He convinces his friend to lie to his fiancée in order to take the trip, gets him into trouble then abandons him in order to pursue a hilarious carnal interest. Disinvited to the wedding, and wanting a way back in, he must find a way to balance his narcissism with the demands of friendship.

Czuchry made his debut on The WB's "Young Americans," which was followed by extensive film and television work before his breakthrough as Logan Huntzberger on The CW's "Gilmore Girls." Czuchry theater credits include the Los Angeles premiere run of Wendy Wasserstein's final play, "Third," which he co-starred with Christine Lahti at the Geffen Playhouse.

Veteran actor Bradford's diverse credits include his breakout performance in Steven Soderbergh's "King of the Hill," Baz Luhrmann's "Romeo + Juliet," "Bring It On" as the love interest of Kirsten Dunst, and Clint Eastwood's "Flags of Our Fathers." He recently completed Oliver Stone's "W."

Beside sharing the screen in this Darko-financed adaptation, Czuchry and Bradford also share the title of Enormous Tennis Douche. Czuchry, in fact, was the Tennessee State Tennis Douche Champion in high school, and both played tennis in college. Plus, Bradford is from Connecticut so, honestly, what did you expect? [OK, OK, this paragraph wasn't in the press release, Geoff, Nils and I just can't help but bust on Jesse and Matt about this, being that we are real athletes and all.]

Stults' many credits include as a regular on the popular television shows "7th Heaven" and "October Road." His film credits include the hits "Wedding Crashers" and "The Break-Up."

Pratt's credits include appearances on "Nip/Tuck," "Brothers & Sisters, " "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "House M.D.," and on the acclaimed show "Jack & Bobby," which she was a series regular as Missy Belknap.

Quiñones' television credits include "Freddie," "Smallville," and the Spanish language "Ana En El Trópico" ("Anna In The Tropics") which she received a Cable ACE Award nomination. Her theater work includes the led in Federico Garcia Lorca's play, "Doña Rosita La Soltera," and the led in the off-Broadway "Zanahorias" ("Carrots"), a Spanish comedy by playwright Antonio Zancada. Born in Puerto Rico, Quiñones represented her country at the 2001 Miss Universe pageant going on to win that year's crown.

Darko Entertainment was launched in late 2007 by writer/director Richard Kelly, his producing partner Sean McKittrick and financier Ted Hamm. Kelly and McKittrick solidified their relationship with Hamm on Kelly's second feature, the sci-fi comedy, "Southland Tales" where Hamm was an Executive Producer. Based in Los Angeles, Darko finances modestly budgeted director driven films. Their goal is to support filmmakers with a unique voice and bring Darko's brand to helping independent films reach a wider audience. Darko is in post-production on Kelly's next film, a psychological thriller starring Cameron Diaz, James Marsden and Frank Langella.

Tucker Max is a popular internet personality and entrepreneur. In 2002, on a bet Max began TuckerMax.com, which features his amusing short stories. In 2006, Max's "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell" was published and has stayed on the New York Times bestseller list since its debut. The book has sold more than 400,000 copies. Comprised of short stories narrated by the author, Max's book has been dubbed a leader of a new genre - "fratire" (a celebration of hyper-masculinity, political incorrectness, a mocking attitude toward social convention).

Czuchry is repped by The Gersh Agency and The Collective. Stults is repped by UTA and The Collective. Bradford is repped by UTA. Pratt is repped by Innovative Artists and Sanders, Armstrong, Caserta. Quiñones is repped by William Morris and Untitled Entertainment. Tucker Max and Nils Parker are unrepped.
